Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Here you can find the most important answers about the Nightline. If you want to know more, feel free to send us a message via the contact form.
What is the Nightline?
The Nightline is a listening phone by students for students. Whether you screwed up, university stress is getting to you, or your relationship isn’t going well right now: Tell us about it! We listen.
Who answers my call?
The Nightliners are students who volunteer their time. We are not professional therapists, but listen to your concerns on an equal footing. All staff members are continuously trained in conversational techniques (according to Carl Rogers) and supervised by psychologists from the Studierendenwerk.
Who can call? Do I have to give my name?
Our service is primarily aimed at students, but anyone will find an open ear with us. And no, you don’t have to tell us your name! The Nightline is completely anonymous. Conversations are never recorded.
How much does a call cost?
The service itself is completely free. You only pay the usual connection costs of your provider for a landline call to Munich.
Who can join the Nightline?
All students and doctoral candidates from Munich universities can join us. You don’t have to submit a classic application. Just get in touch with us and write a few sentences about yourself. You can reach us best by email at nightline.muenchen.mitglieder@gmail.com.
